Catharine began her study of yoga in 1996 as a way to reduce the effects of stress in her life. Through her practice and teaching she found yoga to be a guiding force for her physical, mental and spiritual well-being. She feels better, is stronger, laughs more and enjoys life in her 40’s more than she did in her 30’s. She attributes this directly to her yoga. Studying regularly with her teachers, Aadil Palkhivala and Mirra, she is a member of the first class to graduate from the College of Purna Yoga in Bellevue, Washington 2006. The College of Purna Yoga is the only school licensed by the State of Washington to teach yoga and includes over 2000 hours of study. She also teaches in Bellevue, WA for the 500 hour College of Purna Yoga Teacher Training Program. She has traveled and studied yoga and meditation in India with her teachers Aadil and Mirra. In addition she guides Purna Yoga trips to India. Trusted and caring, she is honored to share her knowledge and experience with others.

Bob Maiers
Instructor, East 2nd Street Yoga and Massage
BA in Business Administration, University of Washington

Bob began his study of yoga in 2001 out of an interest in athletics and health. Living an active life-style for over 50 years, he appreciated the positive energy and welcoming community in his yoga classes. While studying regularly with Catharine at East 2nd Street Yoga and Massage, he has also attended specialized training in yoga with Aadil Palkhivala and using the Great Yoga Wall. Bob is eager to share yoga with new students in the Beginner Basics class. He has a light energetic teaching style, is extremely sincere, and incorporates humor in his classes while maintaining the safety and integrity of the yoga poses.

Susan Myers
Instructor, East 2nd Street Yoga and Massage
BA in English and Psychology, Meredith College

Susan came to yoga with a desire to improve her strength and flexibility but found the rewards of her practice to be much greater that just those physical benefits. Her life has become more peaceful and centered because of her yoga. Susan is an active member of the PTA at her son’s school, is an artist and loves dogs! She joyously shares her knowledge of yoga with students in the Beginner Basics class while honoring each student and the art of yoga.
